Zero Sum
Zero Sum is a small and simple math based card game where you play 1vs1 to reach 0 first.
Explanation:
You and your enemy have both a stack of number that you need to bring to 0 to win. Keep the enemy stack from reaching 0 and move yours closer to 0. Negative numbers are a valid space to move in. There are cards with different operations +, -, *, / and values from 0-5. Each card has also a specific type. Player cards always target your stack, Enemy cards target the enemy stack, All cards target both stacks and Dynamic automatically targets the stack that makes the most sense for the operation(* always on the enemy, / always on yours, + and - on either or both whatever benefits you more). You also can store a card if it wouldn't benefit you, either by right clicking it or by using the magnet button and clicking on a card. Storing a card will add or multiply the value of the card onto your Storage. Your Storagealways grows bigger no matter if - or + cards and both * and / will multiply your Storage. The value of your Storage can then be used with special Store cards, there are only two types of Store cards * and /. A Store card will multiply itself with your Storage and then apply that amount onto the appropriate stack. So * Store cards affect your enemy and / Store cards affect your stack. You can't use a Store card with a Storage value of 0. For example if you have a Storage value of 20 and play a * 3 Store card it basically becomes a *60 Enemy card. With a / 3 Store card you would get a / 60 Player card.
Personal Note:
I developed this game alone for a personal game jam. Zero Sum was actually the theme that i picked for my game jam and this game is the result. I developed this game with the Godot Engine in under 20h (1064 minutes) work time during one week of work
Have fun playing and have a nice day 😊
